Road Rage capital of the country



From the corner of my eye I could see a huge mass which said “big massive truck” too close for comfort and I froze .
But before I could say , well, Khan Market , my good man at the wheel, AZ, was out of the car and all set to take on the driver of the truck . Soon choice Marathi swear words were clashing with robust Punjabi slang as the truck driver , a blur of orange turban and wild , flowing beard swung his big bulky self from the truck . Injured Maratha pride was no match for good, full blown Jat bluster but it was still a free for all. More here

I have realised that you see a place the best when you seek out the people there and simply go with the flow of the few precious hours one has to spend there. A newbie South Asia city I thought nevertheless , a thirty years new/ old modern urban statement ; one of those special economic zones that just grew up to be a shinning conglomerate of business like Lego blocks dressed in chrome –glass –steel reaching out its metallic talons into the blue and white sky. Back to Blogging With a Very Personal Sharing



Mangesh wistfully said to Gita he adored the star and being in Bombay nursed secret , impossible dreams of maybe seeing him some time . Coming from the interior district of Yavatmal, being in this big city itself was a source of wonder to him. Hearing him say Salman I just decided to take a chance and see if I could get the star on the phone and at least maybe give him a chance to get a part of his dream come through!! More here....

In Search of Winding Stairway to Heaven


There was no way I was going to leave behind the beautiful collection of A A Milne’s poems nor the Tales from Ireland I picked up for the grandkids nor the little gem on Jazz and Blues that I had earmarked for my brother and the copy of Dame Doubtfire for myself ; well even if I kept that aside , as the lady told me it would make no difference it hardly weighed anything.

And the buffet did look good enough to hmmm eat !! But what caught my eye was a display card that said "Dosa Dhamaka" exhorting one to eat as much as one could and went on to describe an array of mouthwatering fillings for more than eight different kinds of dosas ........More dosas here
